How it works
Whether you would like a planting plan for a small area, or a complete garden design, I shall be pleased to hear from you.
Consultation
If you decide, after an initial enquiry, you would like me to visit your garden, we can arrange this to discuss your requirements. After the meeting I will write a short summary of our discussions for you to think about before you decide to have a design created.
My fees for an INITIAL CONSULTATION visit are £40 per hour, and the meeting might take about two hours. Any fees payable for this can be deducted from the finished design costs.
Drawings
I will usually draw up several CONCEPT SKETCHES, and you can choose a preferred option. Once you are happy with the design, I will draw up the accurate MASTER PLAN, which will show the complete garden with specifications of all features. Before doing this I will make an accurate survey of the site, showing all existing features, and noting soil conditions, aspect and any views you might want to enhance or screen.
A detailed PLANTING PLAN will also be supplied show each individual plant to scale.
Making it Happen
You may have suitable contractors that you would like to use, or I can recommend a reliable firm. Any construction plans and/or elevations will also be completed at this stage.
Fees
I give a FIXED QUOTE IN ADVANCE for my design fees, taking into account the size and complexity of the garden. Costs are given separately for the master plan, planting plans, and any other drawings. I ask for an initial deposit of 30%, the balance to be paid on completion of the brief. In the case of ongoing projects, stage payments will be required.
